Who  We Are – Our History

Our vision and mission is to help connect people to faith

Missionary Disciples Forum grew out of a small group in Mississauga that began around 2015.   Richard Chung was a Catholic married man and was touched deeply by the Holy Spirit at a healing mass and a great passion to share the faith with others and to help people grow in Chist began to be formed in his heart.   He starting meeting with a few people weekly and before you know it more and more people Began to join them and they were all really enjoying their weekly meeting and were maturing in their Catholic faith.   Fr Ben St Croix had facilitated that early healing service and had been encouraging Richard in his ministry.   In 2021 we decided to spread the blessing to others by offering a formation program and support network for those who would feel called to start their own group to better evangelize and help support people in their faith.

MDF HISTORY

Missionary Disciples Forum grew out of a small group in Mississauga, ON that began around 2015. Richard Chung, a Catholic, was touched deeply by the Holy Spirit at a Healing Mass facilitated by Fr. Ben St. Croix, CC, and a great passion began to grow in Richard’s heart for sharing the Faith with others and helping people grow in Christ. With the encouragement of Fr. Ben, he starting meeting with a few people weekly and before long, more and more people began to join, eager to mature together in their faith. In 2021, the group decided with Fr. Ben to spread the blessing to others by offering a formation program and support network designed for those who would feel called to start their own group to better evangelize and help support people in their faith.

Richard S Y Chung

Richard S Y Chung is a co-founder of God’s Joy Forum community. He is blessed to have meaning and purpose in his life by having been given this  community. He has a passion for helping people in discovering more and  more of the innumerable riches they have in Christ, living them out and giving them away to others

Richard was born in Mauritius in a Chinese budhist family. He was converted to Catholicism at early age. He was a nominal catholic till age 60 when he started volunteering at his parish and was called to be the secretary for St. Vincent de Paul society. Four years later, his life changed when he was prayed over by Fr. Ben and the Holy Spirit set him afire and melted away his lukewarmness. God’s Joy Forum is the fruit of this conversion.

Richard earned a M.Sc.degree in Computer Data Communications from University of Montreal. Richard and his wife Bernadette have been married for over 40 years and blessed with 2 daughters.

 Lorenzo Stampatori

Lorenzo Stampatori

Lay Leader

Hi, my name is Lorenzo Stampatori, and I am a lay Christian Roman Catholic. I am currently married to my amazing wife Shelley, with three wonderful children: Julia, Michael, and Daniel. Seven years ago the Lord started to call me back to a closer relationship with Him. After reviving my faith at a Bible study the Spirit inspired me to go deeper in my journey by starting a community based faith group with Richard, and later, Samantha. This group named GJF (God’s Joy Forum) has been running for several years which currently convenes every Wednesday. I’ve been involved with the Acts community ministry and have participated in the LSS as well as online and in-person Catholic retreats. The last few months we have been called to help Father Ben facilitate his mission in forming servant leaders in small groups. I am thankful and so grateful to God the Father for providing these means of growing closer to Him and being His instrument to help others in the same way. Let the Spirit lead!!
